Late June I spent a week painting on the John Busby Seabird painting bursary in Scotland. A packed week enjoying the seabirds on the East coast of Scotland. Now fast approaching Autumn there is still time to paint outside, which I will be doing in beautiful Sussex Prairies and outside on the Adur. Courses:
Sussex Prairies garden, near Henfield, is a beautiful garden close to Brighton and at this time of year rich in colours and textures perfect for watercolour. Each visit I look at it with fresh exercises, the garden is full of drama and scale, if you would like to join me I shall be there Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th September and Wednesday 9th October. Exploring Watercolour at Starling Studio, 107 Havelock Road, October 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, Future dates are November 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. I‘ll be looking at approaching watercolour in a variety ways through landscapes and still life’s. This will be a fun way of exploring marks and layers in watercolour. Sussex Watercolour Society, Artwave Lewes Venue 67, Linklater Pavilion, Railway Lane, Lewes, BN7 2FG. Friday 6th 2-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 7th, 8th 10- 5pm. I enjoy this weekend meeting up with fellow watercolorists and sharing techniques, looking and talking about each others work and challenges over the last year. This is a chance to see watercolour up close and used and explored in a range of ways.
