After a lot a smashing glass from frames in my studio this week, the show is up in Starling studios window. If you live in Brighton or passing by the address is Starling studios, 107 Havelock Road, Brighton BN1 6GL. This is a wonderful studio run by Rosa and David who want to continue to offer a place for local artists to run workshops and classes to small groups in a lovely, light airy studio. In this hard time for anything that involves the arts and entertaining, artists really appreciate places like this to stay open, to safe guard our future work. I will be running more classes in the new year on a Thursday. All work is for sale contact me for more information.

Starting on some larger pieces in the studio at the moment. I have been thinking of changing to acrylics as it is more economical on a larger scale, so have just bought some liquid acrylics and experimenting with them to see if I can get a similar effect to watercolour. The colours are very vibrant and I am now realising I need to up grade my brushes as well. As usual I get excited by the medium and now have started on a few small canvas boards.

October update
The M25 has become abstract in recent months. Lucky for me I haven’t had to travel regularly around it but now spend time looking at the images that Theo and I collected from our journeys together.

These are small watercolour studies of roads. For 5 or 6 years I have been regularly driving with my son around the country taking him to training and races for his Canoe Slalom. All the time I have been driving I have been saying "‘Theo, get a photo quickly..Oh did you get a photo of that…” I know it has driven him mad but I knew I wanted to start a series of works about my times on the M23,M25,M1 and many more large roads.
The studies are wanting to share the atmosphere and the beauty of light on the normal. Though at times I felt it was trance like when looking at such beautiful light, I still managed to keep my eye on the road.
